Consumer rights in intelligent transportation systems

Abstract
Smart transportation system or internet taxi is a type of transportation service that uses it to transport people and goods with greater ease, speed and security. The administrators of these systems have tried to shorten the ordering process for providing a vehicle to move people or goods by designing software based on the locator and creating online ordering capabilities for those requesting transportation services. Obviously, the use of these systems creates new legal challenges that are basically not seen in traditional transportation systems. In this article, by examining the challenges that arise due to the nascent nature of these systems, an attempt has been made to provide suggestions for settling claims in this field. Topics related to consumer rights and privacy, customer service challenges for both drivers and passengers, working relationships between the operator of the intelligent transportation system and the driver, topics related to fair contracts between active parties in this system and the governing laws. On the beneficiaries of such a service is one of the topics discussed in the article with the help of critical analysis method. The research findings show that from both legal and technical aspects, the rights of the consumers in smart transportation arena, such as driver, passanger, the transporter and the servicer need to be protected by the lawmaker.
