The Quarterly Journal of Islamic Law (Scientific–Research) seeks to advance the following objectives:
To elucidate the principles, foundations, and juristic and legal issues of Islam, and to provide scholarly, well-reasoned, and evidence-based defenses thereof.
To explicate and develop disciplines ancillary to Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), including the philosophy of fiqh, principles of Islamic jurisprudence (uṣūl al-fiqh), maqāṣid al-sharīʿa (objectives of Islamic law), and related fields.
To undertake comparative studies of legal schools and systems with a view to expanding and deepening the Islamic juristic and legal system and responding to contemporary critiques and challenges.
To examine emerging and novel legal issues and to propose solutions grounded in the theoretical foundations of the Islamic juristic and legal framework.
To critically analyze statutory laws and to contribute to resolving legal challenges within the legal system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
