Author Declaration and Publication Ethics Statement

The author(s) and submitting author are required, at the time of manuscript submission, to provide a signed statement containing the following declaration:

To: The Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Islamic Law
Subject: Ethical Commitment and Author Declaration

Dear Editor,

I, [Full Name], author of the manuscript entitled “[Title of the Article],” together with my co-authors, hereby submit this manuscript to the Journal of Islamic Law. By doing so, we affirm our acceptance of the journal’s stated policies and the generally recognized standards governing peer-reviewed academic publications.

We hereby declare that the submitted manuscript is original, constitutes our own scholarly work, and does not infringe upon the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party. The manuscript has not been previously published, in whole or in part, nor is it currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. We further undertake not to submit the manuscript to any other journal until a final editorial decision has been rendered.

Should any breach of these commitments be identified or reported, we accept full responsibility for all resulting consequences.

Regulations on the Prevention of Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct

Upon submission of a manuscript to the journal’s online system, an automated notification will be sent to all listed authors. Inclusion of an individual’s name as an author signifies their substantial contribution to the conception, preparation, and finalization of the manuscript. If any listed author has not contributed to the manuscript or if their name has been included without consent, they are requested to notify the journal immediately via the received email.

All authors bear collective responsibility for the authenticity and integrity of the work. The journal reserves the right to evaluate and investigate cases of suspected academic misconduct.

Plagiarism and research misconduct include, but are not limited to, the following practices:

  • Submitting another individual’s work under one’s own name.

  • Listing as authors individuals who have made no substantive contribution to the manuscript.

  • Reproducing or substantially copying parts of another work (even if the copied work belongs to one of the authors of the new submission) without proper attribution.

  • Presenting the findings of other researchers as one’s own.

  • Duplicate publication of the same manuscript in multiple journals by the same author(s).

  • Reporting inaccurate findings, falsifying results, or distorting research data.

  • Using unreliable data or manipulating research data.

Allegations of plagiarism or academic misconduct will be examined by the editorial authorities. In order to safeguard the academic integrity of the journal and the rights of other researchers, violations will be addressed without leniency and may result in one or more of the following actions, proportionate to the severity of the misconduct:

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript or removal of the published article from the journal’s website.

  • Inclusion of the names of all authors on the blacklist of the journals affiliated with the University of Tehran.

  • Legal action pursued through competent judicial authorities.

  • Formal notification of the misconduct to relevant domestic and international universities and academic journals.

  • Official reporting of the case to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), universities, research institutes, academic journals, and any institutions that have granted academic credit or recognition on the basis of the publication.

For further guidance regarding publication ethics standards, authors are encouraged to consult the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All violations will be addressed in accordance with applicable regulations governing research misconduct.
